Terms of service

1. Who you are agreeing with

Openings is run by one private individual in the Netherlands ("we", "us"). It is a free, non-commercial side project: there is no company behind it, nothing is sold, and there are no ads. By creating an account or using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

2. What Openings is

Openings monitors the career pages of a set of companies, collects the job openings published there, and shows them to you in a single feed. If you give us a CV or a description of what you are looking for, an AI model scores each opening against that and explains its reasoning. You can filter by company, country, city and language, set a minimum score, get email or browser alerts when something new fits, track the jobs you have applied for, and ask the AI to draft application material.

What Openings is not: it is not a recruitment agency, not an employment intermediary, not a job board that employers post to, and not a career advice service. We have no relationship with the companies whose openings we show, no influence over their hiring, and no ability to put you forward for anything.

The service is free to use. There is nothing to pay, no subscription and no trial that converts into one.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. The service is not intended for children.
• Give a real email address you control — it is how we confirm the account, reset your password and send alerts.
• Choose a password you do not use anywhere else, and keep it to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account while your credentials are in your hands.
• One account per person. Accounts are personal and not transferable.
• Tell us at hello@marketing-jobs.nl if you think someone else has got into your account.

4. Job listings come from other people's websites

Every opening in your feed was published by a third party on its own career page. We collect and reformat that information automatically. This has consequences you should assume rather than hope against:

• We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, complete or current. Titles, locations, seniority, languages and descriptions are taken from the source and may be wrong there, or may have been summarised imperfectly by us.
• A job may already be filled or withdrawn. We re-check career pages regularly and drop openings that disappear, but there is always a gap between the employer closing a role and us noticing.
• We do not promise to catch every opening. Career pages change their structure, block automated access, or go down. When that happens we may miss roles, show them late, or stop covering a company entirely. Openings is a useful net, not a complete one, and should not be your only source.
• Always check the employer's own page before relying on anything, and apply there. The employer's terms and privacy policy govern your application, not ours.

5. AI scores and generated text

Match scores, verdicts, reasons, job summaries and any cover letter or application material are produced by a large language model. They are estimates and drafts, not advice and not facts. Models get things wrong, miss context and occasionally invent detail.

• A low score does not mean you should not apply, and a high score does not mean you will be considered.
• Read and edit anything the AI writes before you send it to an employer. You are the author of what you submit, and you are responsible for its accuracy.
• Nothing produced by Openings is career, legal, immigration or financial advice.

6. No guarantee of a job

We do not promise that you will find work, get an interview, receive a reply, or that any opening we show is genuinely available to you. Openings helps you see and sort vacancies sooner. What happens after that is between you and the employer.

7. Acceptable use

When using Openings, you agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically copy the feed, or republish or resell the aggregated listings;
• Use automated tools, scripts or additional accounts to get around rate limits or AI fair-use budgets;
• Upload a CV or personal data belonging to someone else without their knowledge and agreement;
• Upload content that is unlawful, malicious, or that you have no right to share;
• Attempt to probe, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts, or the infrastructure it runs on;
• Use the service to send spam, to harass anyone, or for any unlawful purpose;
• Misrepresent the service as your own, or imply that we endorse or are affiliated with you.

Found a security problem? Please report it privately to hello@marketing-jobs.nl before telling anyone else, and give us a reasonable chance to fix it. We will not pursue anyone who reports in good faith and does not access, alter or retain other people's data.

8. Fair use of the AI features

AI requests cost us real money, so features that generate text run against a per-account budget, and CV uploads and other expensive actions are rate-limited. If you hit a limit the interface will say so, and you can ask us to raise it. We may adjust these limits as costs change, and we may restrict AI features for an account that is clearly consuming them abusively.

9. Availability and changes to the service

Openings is provided as-is and as-available, by one person, with no uptime guarantee. We may change, add, suspend or remove features, add or drop monitored companies, or take the service down for maintenance, at any time. If we decide to discontinue the service altogether, we will give reasonable notice by email to the address on your account so that you can retrieve your data first.

10. Your content

Your CV, your search brief, your notes and your tracked applications remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to actually run the service for you: to store that content, process it, and pass the relevant parts to the providers listed in the Privacy policy so that scoring and drafting can happen. We do not use your content to train AI models, we do not publish it, and we do not show it to other users or to employers.

11. Our content and other people's rights

The site itself — its design, text, code and structure — belongs to us. Job descriptions, company names and logos belong to the respective employers and are shown for identification so you can recognise who is hiring. Nothing on Openings transfers any rights in those materials to you.

12. Suspension, termination and deletion

You can stop using Openings at any time. To have your account and its data deleted, email hello@marketing-jobs.nl and we will do it and confirm.

We may freeze or delete an account that breaches these terms, that is being used to harm the service or other users, or where we are legally required to. Except where the breach is serious or ongoing, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right. If we delete your account, your data is removed as described in the Privacy policy.

13. Liability

Openings is free, informational and automated, and our liability is limited accordingly. To the extent Dutch law allows, we are not liable for:

• inaccurate, outdated, incomplete or missing job listings, or openings we failed to show you;
• decisions you take on the basis of an AI score, summary or generated text;
• a job you did not get, an application you did not send, or an opportunity you missed because an alert was late, undelivered or never generated;
• interruptions, downtime or data loss caused by a third-party provider;
• indirect or consequential loss, including lost income or lost opportunity.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for damage caused by intent or deliberate recklessness, for death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory rights under Dutch and EU consumer law apply in full and are not affected by anything written here.

14. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is set out in the Privacy policy, and what your browser stores is set out in the Cookie policy. Both form part of these terms.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for example when a feature changes or a provider is replaced. The current version is always on this page with its "last updated" date. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will announce it on the site and email the address on your account at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Openings after that date means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can have your account deleted at any time before or after.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts there.
